Who are Fulbright Campus Advisors?

Fulbright Campus Advisors (FCA) are Fulbright Taiwan alumni and U.S. grantee hosts who are passionate about promoting the Fulbright vision, faculty/student programs and are willing to share their Fulbright experiences with potential faculty/student applicants on campus.

What do Fulbright Campus Advisors do?

A general overview of the roles and responsibilities of a Fulbright Campus Advisor:

  • Promote and provide information about Fulbright programs through office hours, informal get-togethers or activities on campus
  • Provide advice for faculty applicants: Share information about Fulbright scholar grants, non-academic professional grants, Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program (DA) and the Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) program
  • Provide advice for student applicants: Share information about Fulbright student grants and the FLTA Program
  • Organize Fulbright Days once per semester on campus to promote Fulbright programs
  • Build connections between FSE, your Office of International Affairs, and other Fulbright alumni at your university in Taiwan
  • Keep FSE updated with any Fulbright-related events or information at your university in Taiwan
  • Consider planting a tree on your campus with a tree-planting ceremony and a plaque donated by Fulbright Taiwan
  • The term for an FCA usually is 3 years but can be extended if an FCA desires to continue their volunteer service

How does FSE support Fulbright Campus Advisors?

  • Provide a regular contact person at FSE: Taiwan Alumni Specialist
  • Hold advisor workshops in different areas: Taipei, Taichung, Kaohsiung, Tainan, Yilan, and Hualien
  • Provide an office plaque and promotional materials
  • FSE can negotiate with the university for the resources the school can provide
  • Certificate of Appreciation
  • Extra attention to letters of recommendation from FCA
