On April 14, Fulbright Taiwan signed an MoU with National Chung Cheng University to develop “Mandarin for the Semiconductor Industry”—a new teaching material that helps international students learn the technical Chinese they need to work in Taiwan’s high-tech industry.
The MOU was signed by Dr. Randall Nadeau, Executive Director of the Foundation for Scholarly Exchange, and Dr. Shao-Jeng Tsai, President of National Chung Cheng University. We were also honored to have the Cultural Affairs Officer Anne Foss from AIT as witness.
As more international students come to Taiwan to study semiconductors, learning industry-specific Mandarin has become essential. This project connects language and industry, helping students communicate better and preparing them for real-world careers.

This cooperation includes not only providing the teaching materials, but also the support of teacher training and class observation/ discussion. We look forward to the new development of Chinese for Specific Purpose by having this stronger and deeper cooperation.
