Description and Purpose
Fulbright Taiwan launched a new cooperation with Jackson Institute for Global Affairs of Yale University under the Fulbright Graduate Study Grants in 2025. The selected student will hold the Fulbright Graduate Study Grant to Yale University to pursue Master’s Degree in Public Policy (M.P.P.) offered by Jackson Institute for Global Affairs, Yale University. This award provides outstanding students the opportunity to gain a world-class education, develop global leadership skills, and foster deeper academic and professional ties between Taiwan and the United Sates.

This award is exclusively for applicants to the Master’s in Public Policy in Global Affairs (M.P.P.) program at the Yale University Jackson School of Global Affairs. Applicants from all academic backgrounds are welcome to apply. For more information about the MPP program, please visit the Yale University Jackson School of Global Affairs website.
Benefits
- Monthly stipend of US$3,742.
- Full tuition waiver of US$60,600 per academic year
- Student activity fee waiver of US$200 per academic year.
- Health insurance coverage through both Yale University and the Fulbright Accident and Sickness Program for Exchanges (ASPE).
(Benefits 1–4 are renewable for a second academic year, contingent upon satisfactory academic progress and if the degree program is not yet completed) - Yale application fee waiver of US$75 for applications submitted before 11:59 p.m. EST on December 1, 2025.
- A one-time settling allowance of US$3,000 .
- Possible placement in a one to three-week summer pre-academic program in the U.S., with expenses paid for room, board, book allowance, and travel allowance (this benefit may be adjusted due to international travel situation).
- Prospective Fulbright participants should be aware that public health conditions, availability of consular services and travel, as well as U.S. institutional operating status and policies may affect their ability to travel to the U.S. and participate in academic programs.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants are eligible who:
- Are physically present in Taiwan during the year prior to the grant (August 2025 to July 2026).
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree by June 2026 and are qualified and ready to enroll directly in a Master’s program in Fall 2026.
- In your Fulbright application, please ensure that both Yale University and its Jackson School of Global Affairs are clearly listed in your Preference List. While it is not necessary to apply to or secure admission from the Master in Public Policy (MPP) program at Yale’s Jackson School of Global Affairs before applying for this grant, if you are selected for the grant, you must independently apply to the MPP program for the corresponding academic year, adhering to Yale University’s application timeline. Please note that this award cannot be deferred.

- Minimum iBT score 80 or IELTS score (academic) minimum 6.5 taken since September 2024.
- GRE valid score report, taken since September, 2021.
- Or upload your iBT/IELTS/GRE test appointment confirmation to our application system. (Test date MUST before September 30, 2025).
- Can be physically present for an oral interview at the end of August (tentatively scheduled on August 20, 2025) at the Fulbright Taiwan in Taipei.
- Meet the Grant Conditions and Provisions (Eligibility & Visa).
Applicants are Ineligible who:
- Are currently studying in the United States.
- Have received Fulbright Student Grant twice.
Other Requirements:
- The duration of the grants is 12 months, and the grants is renewable for a second year. The grants must begin no earlier than August 1, 2026 and no later than June 1, 2027.
- All candidates have to report to FSE of other funding resources which will be received in the same period of Fulbright grant. The Fulbright grant may be adjusted based on the cap grant amount.
- All other factors being equal, preference is given to applicants who has submitted all of the score reports (including English score report and transcript).
- During the grant period, the grantee must submit a research or reflections article to FSE’s Online Journal Research & Reflections
