Planting the Roots of Taiwan Teenagers’ English-Language Critical Thinking Skills: Fulbright Debate Coach Program Kick-off

As the very first Fulbright debate program in the world, two distinguished U.S. debate coaches have arrived in Taiwan through a highly-cautious quarantine mechanism. They will start a series of U.S. style debate coaching workshops and relevant events.

To nurture the critical and logical thinking of Taiwan high school students, the Fulbright Debate Program builds on U.S. Public Forum Debate. With professional training from our coaches, this program aims to improve Taiwan high school students’ critical thinking skills in English and to enhance the promotion of democratic values within Taiwan and the U.S.

Ten local high schools have joined our 2020-2021 program. The Foundation for Scholarly Exchange will start to recruit new local high schools for the 2021-2022 academic year this April. We look forward to having new partners.
