With the support of our program partners, the Fulbright Taiwan Debate Program has been implementing for two years so far, and has gradually expanded our appeal to promote American Debate Education in the English Debate community of Taiwanese high schools, as well as our influence of training students’ critical thinking ability in English. To enable these young debaters to understand global trends and cultivate their international insights, the Fulbright Taiwan Debate Program cooperated with the National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA) and the Taipei American School (TAS). We will lead a group of Fulbright Taiwan debater seeds to participate in 2022 NSDA Taiwan Regional Tournament in the coming April.

Through the highly competitive online audition at the beginning of the year, we selected 16 debaters from nearly 100 students from all over Taiwan, and started a five-week online special training from February 26, 2022. During the special trainings, we observed that every debater was able to speak confidently with his or her unique ideas in PROS/CONS and crossfires of each debate session.

The 2022 NSDA Taiwan Regional Tournament will take place this April. Please join us in wishing this batch of Fulbright Taiwan debater seeds to win glory for Taiwan and complete their primary voicing practice on democratic thinking.
