This is the third year of the Fulbright Taiwan Debate Program. We are excited that over 3,000 Taiwanese high school students and teachers have participated in this program so far. The Fulbright Debate Program held the “Cross-Cultural Engagement & Thanksgiving Workshop” at Kaohsiung Municipal Hsin-Chuang Senior High School on November 24, 2022. Today’s workshop saw the participation of over 500 teachers and students.
Mr. Astin Chang, FSE Public Affairs Specialist, gave a brief introduction of the Fulbright Program and an Opportunity Roadmap. He especially encouraged all students to study abroad and experience the rest of our world while they are young.
Lawrence Zhou and Charles Karcher, our 2022–2023 Fulbright Taiwan Debate Coaches, shared both their campus lives in the U.S. and the cultures of their hometowns. To further acquaint the students with American culture on Thanksgiving Day, our debate coaches guided them through a Thanksgiving game “Yam Race.”
